The civic axis of Portell is located near Parc Guell and wants to respond to the requests of urban redevelopment of the neighborhood by creating a linear park instead of a street. In fact, all the paving elements, such as street furniture and trees, have been designed to give the idea of a road inside a park. The intervention is part of the strategic plan of the city of Barcelona which aims to develop and link the parks of the three main hills, that are called “Los Tres Turons”. The proposed project achieved this objective through the design and construction of illuminated stairways and gentler ramps to overcome slope problems. The project works on road seams and on connections linking Parc Guell, Parc de la Creuetta thanks to the axis civic del Portell. The linear path developes through the entire park.
